ChatGPT is better for writing from scratch, rewriting and explaining. Grammarly is better for catching mistakes as you type, everywhere you write, without copy-pasting. Most people who write a lot benefit from both: Grammarly Free or Pro for proofreading, ChatGPT for drafting. If you must pick one, pick ChatGPT for creating content and Grammarly for polishing it.

Can ChatGPT replace Grammarly?
