Get The AI Edit Bay Blueprint
On June 9, 2026, Anthropic posted the launch video for Claude Fable 5 — and a day later, Thariq Shihipar of the Claude Code team revealed that no human ever opened a video editor: the model in the video did the entire edit itself. Seventeen takes and 25GB of raw 4K footage went in; a verified rough cut came out in seven minutes. This blueprint rebuilds that exact pipeline as a copy-paste starter kit — five stations, all free tools. Station 1 THE EARS: Whisper with word-level timestamps (plus the filler-word trap nobody mentions — vanilla Whisper silently deletes your "um"s, and the two verbatim-tuned variants that catch them). Station 2 THE BRAIN: the final-edit.json cut list with written rationale per pick, and the full starter prompt adapted from the real demo kickoff. Station 3 THE HANDS: the exact FFmpeg slice + stitch commands, plus the three guardrails that keep cuts from landing mid-sentence (keyframe snapping, timestamp drift, and the re-transcribe verification). Station 4 THE LOOK: color grading as plain-text .cube LUT files, applied with one FFmpeg flag. Station 5 THE MOTION: Remotion setup with the official Claude Code skill pack (one command), captions, and the Figma MCP bridge the demo round-tripped twice. Plus the meter pages: the real ~$100 cost breakdown (cutting ≈ $10, polish burned the rest), Fable 5 pricing and the June 22 free-window cliff, why most stations run fine on cheaper models, and the weekend build order.
