The ONEFILE Kit — Run a Whole Slide App From One 585 KB HTML File (Bento, Audited Hands-On)
The companion to the full video. Bento is a complete presentation tool — editor, presenter, charts, tables, live collaboration — packed into ONE self-contained ~585 KB HTML file. INSIDE THE KIT: (1) THE 5-STEP WORKFLOW — download the single file from bento.page, build a deck by hand (save writes back into the same file), teach Claude Code the format with two /plugin commands (or one curl for the raw skill), convert old .pptx decks with the creator's own recipe, and collaborate end-to-end encrypted — AES-GCM keys live in the file, the relay only sees ciphertext, offline edits merge via CRDT. (2) OUR AUDIT RESULTS, 26 Jul 2026 — file measured at 598,626 bytes, ~1.1 MB of decompressed JS+CSS, all 6 endpoints referenced in the code listed one by one, ZERO analytics or beacon libraries found (we searched for cloudflareinsights, sendBeacon, analytics, sentry, posthog, plausible, gtag), and a live network log showing exactly 1 external request — the update-manifest GET, no identifiers. Plus the honest context: on launch day an HN user found a Cloudflare beacon and the creator fixed it within days. (3) THE SHARING RULES — why you must never email a Bento deck as an attachment (mail filters strip HTML+JS), what to use instead, and the trust rule for a document that executes. (4) THE DECK-BUILDING PROMPT — the exact copy-paste prompt used in the video: edit only the JSON in #bento-doc, real charts for numbers, morph transitions via stable element ids, count-up headline numbers, speaker notes on every slide, escape every < as \u003c, then run the file's own self-audit checklist.
