The Anti-Slop Stack — 5 Free Tools That Make Claude Code Design Like It Was Hired, Not Generated

The companion playbook to the video. On Aug 6, 2026 we ran the same client brief through Claude Code twice, from the same git commit: once stock, once with five free design tools wired in — then scored both pages with Impeccable's 59-rule slop detector in a real browser. The stock build committed 26 design violations (ten low-contrast failures, five glowing shadow halos, nested cards, the label-over-heading tic, the overused font, even em-dash abuse). The stacked build's first pass ALSO scored 26 — subtler crimes — and that's the real lesson: tools raise the floor, the detect-fix loop finishes the job. INSIDE: (1) the 5 tools with the exact install commands — Anthropic's official frontend-design skill, Impeccable (56K stars, 23 commands + hooks), the shadcn MCP, tweakcn themes, and the Playwright MCP that lets Claude see its own pixels, (2) THE WORKFLOW in the order that works, ending with detect as a hard gate, (3) the full 26-finding slop anatomy with plain-English explanations of each anti-pattern, (4) a paste-ready CLAUDE.md block that wires the whole stack into any repo, (5) the loop prompt that takes the count to zero, (6) honest caveats — floor not ceiling, and what a detector can't judge. All star counts fetched via the GitHub API on the day of recording. Independent playbook from Hyperautomation Labs — not affiliated with Anthropic, shadcn, or the tool authors.
